The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices that includes techniques designed to promote relaxation, build internal energy or life force (qi, ki, prana, etc.) and develop compassion, love, patience, generosity and forgiveness.

The word meditation carries different meanings in different contexts. Meditation has been practiced since antiquity as a component of numerous religious traditions and beliefs. Meditation often involves an internal effort to self-regulate the mind in some way. Meditation is often used to clear the mind and ease many health issues, such as high blood pressure, depression and anxiety.

When doing these meditations please try to find a quiet space, a room that you feel safe and comfortable in. If you like, use some incense or candles to create a “sacred space.” The meditations do not have any background music so you can play something if it helps to relax you.

Meditation to Find Your Inner Sanctuary

In this meditation, you will find a place that was created just for you, it is your inner sanctuary. You can always come back to this place when meditating to ask questions or when requesting guidance. This can also be used as a place to go when you need to quiet your mind.

Meditation to assist in “letting go”

This meditation is designed to relax the body and to help you “let go” of all those things causing tension and distress. There are things that we hold on to and emotions that weigh us down. These are things that no longer serve us.  This meditation is great for aches and pains in the body.
